If you’re interested in dental veneers, Dr. Stonisch first evaluates your oral health and teeth to make sure you’re a good candidate. Your teeth and gums must be healthy and free from infection before getting veneers.
During your veneer fitting, Dr. Stonisch prepares your teeth by sanding off a thin layer of enamel. The amount of enamel removed is equivalent to the thickness of the dental veneer.
Next, you bite into a soft mold that leaves an impression of your teeth. These molds are sent to a lab, where your custom-designed veneers are manufactured.
You and Dr. Stonisch also pick the perfect shade for your veneers so they either whiten your smile or match your current color. Before going home, you’re fitted with temporary veneers to protect your teeth while your permanent dental veneers are being made.
At your next appointment, your final veneers are fitted. Dr. Stonisch applies a gel to your teeth to facilitate bonding, then cements the dental veneers in place.
